Your admission is very unlikely given your scores and grades.

did you actually apply? Are you hooked or something?

…If not then 0%

I am in the application process, I am still working on my supplements.
I plan on visiting January 14th, I cannot visit beforehand due to my parents’ work schedules.
I am working on showing the most interest possible…any advice or tips on how to further show interest would also be greatly appreciated :)

You have literally no chance. I would not waste your time with Brown and instead focus your time on some more reasonable colleges.

It’s my far far far reach, I know.
I know not to expect to be accepted.
I just don’t want to give up, though.
What if I visited every weekend?

Visiting every weekend won’t make a difference at all - I don’t even think Brown keeps records of who visits. I wouldn’t say that your chance is 0%, but it’s not high. Brown’s going to be a far reach for you - the lowest SAT score I’ve seen so far for accepted ED students is a 1900, and that student’s other attributes were pretty stellar.

I would focus on making your essays as good as possible in the time you have left, and don’t give up all hope. There is ALWAYS a chance, especially when you’re asking on a thread like this where no one actually knows you. Good luck!

Eh, I know people here with SATs comparable to yours, (NOT recruited athletes, mind you, to anyone saying she has a 0% chance). But as you said, you know your chances better than anyone on this board, be confident in yourself and go be the best you can, wherever you go and whatever you do. No big deal.

0%

I will personally send you an apology and a check for $500 to pay for schoolbooks for your first year if you are accepted.

Sorry, spend your time writing an app for a more reasonable school.

I have the lowest SAT scores of the ED accepted applicants, and I look like an outlier. But it’s much harder to get in ED than RD, I feel… So you have a shot, that is, if your essays and recommendations are amazing…
It definitely is a reach for you, so good luck!

Don’t listen to the rest of them, except for AmazingOnline. Your essays and recommendations go a long way, so make them count. If you are able to show your true self to the admission officers with your essays and recs, you have a chance. You never know :)

It is definitely possible - you just need to really work on finding something that makes you special and your application stand out from the rest. If you REALLY want to go to Brown you can make it happen. I got in ED this year with a 26 ACT and barely in the top 10 percent. You need something that shows your academic potential though…for me, that came from my transcript with a few community college classes and my high school transcript.

Its not unheard of, and this year the adcoms seem to be going insane turning away more and more high scores and accepting lower ones as seen in the early decision threads of all the ivy’s.
“Anything worth the reward is always worth the fight”

I say go for it, but dont let your imagination run wild and be disappointed if you are rejected.

You have to be confident and have faith in yourself. If you don’t apply, you will never know whether or not you will get in, so that would be a definite 0%. But then, if you apply, even though is a very big reach, at least you still have a chance for it. I would say, you have to believe in yourself and think positively, ALWAYS!

SATs scores are not a big thing, it’s just a requirement when you apply. Numbers never help the colleges to determine who you are, because you only spent 3 hours and 45 mins on the test. As what others said above, recs letters and essays are major components of your application, and they DO tell who you are, your personality, character, and etc. So, you should definitely spend a lot of time on it, and try your BEST. I know even though the deadline is pretty close from now, but be sure when you write the essays, put aside all your feelings of you might be upset if you won’t get in. Lastly, GOOD LUCK W/ THE APPLICATION! :D

ED is easier than RD.

Thank you all so much for the hope and encouragement as well as the reality of the situation.
