As a sophomore in high school in the US, I have plans to study medicine in the UK. I am of Indian origin, but am a US citizen. Are there any programmes/colleges where I would likely have a chance of getting accepted?

What are the chances of top schools like Oxford accepting a student like me if my scores meet or exceed their requirements?

And lastly, if you have any general advice for me, I would be very grateful...

Thanks!!

Medicine is very expensive and the UK colleges admit very very few international students. Even Singapore, with ~50 students admitted to Cambridge in one year, I don't think we have >2 students studying medicine in Cambridge. And last year Oxford admitted six Americans, I think. However, the lower-tier universities, Cardiff Bristol whatever, may accept more.

It is very difficult for Americans to get admitted to Oxbridge. Other posts have elaborated on this. Do many APs and get excellent grades to even have a chance.

The problem with medicine in the UK is there is a quota. They have to fill the places with UK and EU students first, to fill the vacancies in the UK national health service. Oxford accepts only 6-7 internationals per year for medicine (which is a 6 year undergraduate course here). I've never met one who is American.

Generally UK schools don't like to accept US students for science courses because they think you are not adequtely prepared by high school. Also, qualifying as a doctor in the UK will NOT enable you to practice medicine in the US (though you will be ok in any Commonwealth or European country). You will have to take some tests again. I don't know exactly what these are, but this could be time consuming and expensive. Finally, there is no financial aid for undergraduates.
