I am retaking the SAT in October, mainly to get my Math subscore up, so then hopefully I will have a 2300+ superscore. As for my EC’s, can you elaborate on lack of depth, I know I don’t have a lot of EC’s or one’s that are very prestigious, no national accomplishments for me but I have have been devoted to all the clubs for 3-4 years, and I have done a sport for all 4 years, although I switched sports midway.

Well in my opinion, I would definitely say that you will get into UVA. We both know of course that something freaky might happen, and you not get in, but UVA has no reason not to accept you.

For community service, do something that makes you appear to have a passion. Some colleges can easily realize if you are just volunteering to make your application look better, so volunteer in an event heavily that only happens every couple of years. (ex: I am volunteering in a local candidate’s campaign for the 2010 Congressional elections)

I can tell you why he got in. He had the grades and the test scores and Princeton has arguably the best math department in the country. If he’s a math genius then he is a perfect fit for Princeton.

It seems like you want people to tell you that you will get into the Ivies. It’s very rare to be able to tell someone that, it’s so hard to get into them any more. I think you should quite worrying about it so much and instead try to get excited about some other schools outside of the Ivies that you would like to attend. John Hopkins was on your list, that sounds like a perfect match for what you want to study.

Why is Wharton on your list if you are interested in a degree in Cognitive Science?
