Hi, I'm a freshmen at UW-Madison.
I find this school to be way too big for me and I want to transfer out to a smaller, preferably liberal arts school.
My profile is:
I had a 3.8 GPA in high school, and a 33 ACT composite.
AP Gov, Microecon: 5
AP US history, American History, AB Calc: 4.
bunch of others 3.
Right now, I'm on track to have all As in my classes (though obviously things may change).
The thing is, I don't know how competitive transfer applications are.
My dream transfer colleges are Reed College and Macalester College.
Obviously, they are both really competitive. Are they realistic options for me?
Do you have any realistic suggestions for me?
Thanks.

Your stats are within range and each of those schools has a 20%+ transfer rate, which isn’t high but not as low as some others either. UW-M is your safety, so depending on how much you want to transfer next year, you should add some more schools.

Sounds like you like liberal schools in urban areas. Some of the Claremont colleges, and Lewis & Clark might be options.

How about money, will you need FA/merit aid, will you qualify?
