Reality check list of colleges (high stats, CS)

@Greymeer- Not sure where you are getting that there are “1200 OOS spots”, as GT doesn’t predetermine how many it will accept from in/OOS. That said, they enrolled 1422 and 1306 OOS students in the past 2 years. Guess, looking at all of your numbers, you like to be approximate- to round up/down. I prefer to be accurate.

Acceptance was ~ 22.5% overall (35,611 applied, 8037 accepted). And the in/OOS acceptance is quite different. Yield was 39%.

MODERATOR’S NOTE: This thread is getting a little argumentative. Please move on.

Some schools make you take AB Calc before BC. Otherwise, it’s odd. The fact that he likes tinkering makes me think engineering might be a better fit than CS, but I think there is lots of overlap.

Did he consider Carnegie Mellon? Probably no snow boarding. It’s in a residential section of Pittsburgh, and feels less city-like than some, but I think is really underappreciated.

May we move past the analysis paralysis debating please?

Oops…deleted my comment…in retrospect it didn’t add to the conversation. I replied to an earlier post without reading the whole thread…

I agree with the earlier comments. I think the OP has a great list of schools, a great attitude and has categorized them correctly. Best of luck to your son!
