Realization: SAT Essay is all BS

So my essay was terrible. Literally, it was the worst thing I have ever wrote. My paragraphs did not follow the topic, and the thesis was shaky. However, I had a perfect structure, used good vocabulary, and filled up both pages. I received a 12. I now realize that the essay is all about structure, filling up the two pages, and BSing your way through writing.

wrote 1 and a half page, didnt finish the essay, and went off topic for a bit, and I still got a 8. But when I wrote 1 and a quarter page, with only 2 examples, and finished it, I only got a 6.

i wrote a little less than 1.5 pages the first time and got an 8, 1.75 pages this time and got a 10. next time i’m doing the full 2 pages and i better get a 12. hahaha :)

Same thing happened to me.

I wrote complete BS and got a 12. I couldn’t think of any examples at all so I literally just used personal reflections that I made up on the spot. Also, I used some fancy vocab, dashes, prep phrases, and wrote basically 1 and 3/4 pages. I ended with a quote that I partly remembered and made up the other half of it. I’ll probably post my fail essay in a few days when it’s up.

Thank you collegeboard, for giving a fail writer like me an 800 on the writing section. <3

If this whole length-score correlation is true, I feel bad for all the people with tiny handwriting like me. It is simply impossible for me to fill up both pages unless I don’t think about what I’m writing as I’m writing.

My writing is small, but I write big on the sats. I used personal bs, and even forgot to end one of my paragraphs. 2 pages of bs = 12. I just wish critical reading was as easy.

That’s pretty much what I did too! Since started to panic and couldn’t think of any historical/literary facts, I resorted to using personal references. I don’t know how I got a 12. o.O;

I had an example from history that was so inaccurate, the actual facts of matter DISPUTED my thesis.
I had no high level vocab except for one word- didactisism. Lol.
And I still got a 12 :)

*11. Whoops!

same from me. i wrote the worst essay of my life. except i wrote the full 2 pages in tiny writing.

12.

Haha looks like I’m the odd one.

I actually wrote the full 2 pages, and my writing toward the end got sooo cramped, and I only got a 9. But my handwriting is kinda big.

I have no idea what happened to my essay. I filled up both pages so that I was squashing in the last few words. I had a strong thesis, used big vocabulary and it was well organized. I made a 9. I honestly have no idea how someone could have given me a 4! My essay may not have been perfect, but I thought it was pretty good! i was expecting 6s. I cant wait to reread my essay.

@qwerty

agreed! I mean I wasn’t expecting a 12, but like a 10… I used good vocab, and had 5 decent paragraphs… I’m surprised someone gave me a 4 as well. But then again, I’m not a super strong writer.

I got a 12 on the essay :). Was expecting a 10-12. Examples are key. :slight_smile: Used the cc method.

My friends always call on me when we’re playing the BS card game, but I got a 12 on the essay. :)

I got a 12 also :slight_smile: I used three excellent examples, although the 3rd one was a bit short because I was running out of room/space. My conclusion was also cramped and like 2 sentences, but I still managed that 12.

^ Same here. The conclusion and 3rd example were shorter but hey :)

I got a 12 on my essay to but overall had a 1700. The essay seemed quite simple i provided examples such as the Renaissance and Enlightenment era,and examples with Marcus Garvey and WEB Dubois

I got a 12 describing american revolution in 2 pages lol.

agreed. i made up one example and barely wrote crap on the second. had no conclusion. did not finish two pages.

and that was a 10
