wow that's so intense. in my school, everyone knows where everyone else is applying, and cheers for everyone else to get in.

Well my friend is applying to all the ivies, "just to see if she would get in". She has absolutely no desire to go there at all. She wants to go to Williams or Bowdoin and she says she just wanted to see what the "best" school she could get into would be. That's why I told her not to apply. If she really wanted to go there, I would totally root for her, I mean, I'm not THAT big a jerk.

P.S. I only asked her not to apply. She's my best friend, and she knows how bad I want to go there. I don't go around my school telling people not to apply. And BTW, I go to a really sucky school where only one person gets accepted to an ivy per year, and when compared to her, I would have no chance.

^gunner

Hopefully, Cornell will weed out people like thekristin1129. She would be perfect for premed though.

BTW: It's pretty tacky to wear an Ivy League shirt. Everyone generally has a few items of clothing with their college name displayed. That's school spirit. A shirt announcing the fact you go to an Ivy League school just makes you look like a pretentious prick.

:( i thought it was funny.... ^^ you make me feel bad^^

I'm ordering one, it's cool :)

Sorry. I honestly wasn't trying to be mean. If you wear it at Cornell or a top college, no one will care.

But, if you wear it around people who didn't go to a top college (and most people won't have), that's what people will think. I've met numerous people at my med school interviews who love to announce the fact they went to Harvard or Yale, etc. The consensus among the rest of us is that they are arrogant and pretentious. But, for $6, it's a good investment. Trust me, it's hard to get any clothing with "Cornell" on it for less than $15 (even if it does have the names of 7 other colleges on it).

i like regular cornell t-shirts like the one in red or grey and with the red font. i just like it normal. like my purdue shirts are normal. lol. im not getting cornell shirts yet though lol unless i get accepted. like im buying alot of t-shirts for my family members and cousins and aunts/uncles if i do get accepted. i doubt it but oh well. like i bought my 2 purdue t-shirts when i went to visit the campus last spring lol. and luckily i got accepted =D

I hope Cornell doesn't weed out "people like me". You mean people with social interaction disorders?

norcalguy - apology accepted :)

i love how some schools are sooo different! at my hs of 2000, only 2 people applied ED (me to cornell and a friend of mine to stanford). i actually URGED some of my friends to apply to top schools because i knew theyd have a really great chance at getting accepted. but, where i come from, everyone is sooo used to living in this "asian-suburb" bubble and are afraid to leave California. everyone applies to the same four UC's - UCLA, UCB, UCSD, and UCI.

the one thing i love about my school though, is that no one really pays attention to what college gear other kids are sporting. almost everyone has a UCLA or USC sweater/tshirt/cap/etc.

hey! where is the classical tee "it will be an A at anyother place".hoho

i dont get it.

I dont think I'd wear that. A Cornell sweatshirt is one thing, but anything saying "Ivy League" just makes you seem kind of....like a little prick.

but obviously everyone has thier own opinion.

I just want a RED cornell sweater. and maybe a nice cornell tee. I'm not so obsessive about cornell clothing. hahaha. they're just sports clothes, but I think i'll feel differently if i get in. i'm just saying this now. HAHAHA. =]]]

I jsut got it in the mail today!

You're DEF never a jerk for wearing the school shirt u got into. On the other hand I donno if I'd wear the ivy one...that would be pretentious at my hs where noone applies to those kinds of schools. But to each their own and they know how their own school's environment is!

ps that 2nd shirt is badass!

pps look around college town for cheapish t-shirts. Also the store in the mall across of the movie theater has really cheap cornell shirts outta nowhere...I was so suprised and happy to find them!
