Thanks for reading this far peeps! Anyone think I can get into Stanford, UC Berkeley, UC Davis and UCLA?

Oh and I also live in California and am a Pakistani Male

Stanford: Crapshoot-Reach
UCB/UCLA: Match
UCD: Match
You have competitive stats so there is no reason to aim high. Good Luck

Did i mention also i also do “Odyssey of the mind”?

BUMP

you are going to standford without a doubt, whew your a succeeding man

thanks! @SageTeen2018‌

bump

Stanford=Bump

I think you have a good chance to get into Cal and UCLA. Stanford is a reach.

Really, really good chances. I think you can get in.

BUMP

Stanford is not a “chance me” school…acceptance rate is 5% so view your likelihood as somewhere less than that and put together the best application possible. Then, compile a realistic list of schools you would be happy to attend.
And please don’t take to heart responses from posters such as sageteen2018…he is in 9th grade!

bump

I would say you are probably about average for the Stanford applicant pool (seriously) and are not hooked. You may get in, you may not. It is a reach, and you should treat it as such. Make sure you have solid matches and safeties on your list that you would be willing to attend as well.

And how much do you really know about Stanford and what it likes, after the hype? They aren’t bowled over by the flat details that show up on a Chance Me.

That is why I added UCLA and UC Davis to my list. @intparent

Yes, and you will probably get into them. But you seem to be very set on Stanford, and you need to be sure you WANT to attend the other schools on your list. Some people just focus on their reach, and while they apply to other schools, they don’t put much energy into really making sure they would want to go to the other schools on their list. You should spend more time finding your safety and match schools than your reach schools (because ones you would be happy at can be harder to find).

Thanks for the advice @intparent . My dream schools are stanford, berkeley, and ucla. but i will be applying to UC Davis, Cal Poly, UW, UCSD, UCSB, UCSD. I’ve started on my essays as well, and i included my emotion i had through Stanford. For example, i wrote how i can change stanford, in leadership roles, and working with the other brilliant students. Although i have one more question: I took pre-calc as a senior, but at the same time i was taking ap calc ap at a community college over the weekends. idk if whether or not this will decrease my chances or increase? Oh and is it necessary to take physics? Because i took bio sophomore year, chem junior year, and ap bio senior year.

I don’t think the calc situation will make much difference. But were you taking AP Calc at a community college, or just regular Calc and studying on your own for the AP test? Just be clear on your application. Regarding Physics, I doubt it will make or break your application. Once they get past the basic academic question of test scores, GPA, and overall course rigor (which it seems like you pass), then things like amazing ECs start to kick in to the decision process.
