Okay so I applied online, and they recieved my common app and supplemental. I also sent in my SAT and SAT II's, which they have recieved. One of my two teachers have sent in their recommendations. My second teacher claims that its the postmark that matters and is going to hand it in on Nov. 1st. They have not recieved my school report or high school transcript either. I am going to talk to my guidance counselor tomorrow to make sure her silly errors don't prevent me from getting my application in on time. I just want to know if it's the post mark that the admissions officers go by. PLEASE EASE MY TENSION!

YES. IT SAYS SO IN YOUR APPLICATION BOOKLET. Don't be such a paranoid, please. It ****es me off when people don't read the freaking manual and become all paranoid like if the sky's going to fall or something.

They go by the postmark. I'm in a real jam myself... I'm creating a new thread about it if you're curious...

Another quick question...my school, in the past several years, have had many acceptances to Cornell...if I am the only one applying ED from my school to Cornell, will my chances be higher or less? Do you think they will like defer me because they might want to see what other types of applicants will be applying? Or would they be more likely to accept me because I come from a school with a good past?

Does it matter? You'll get either accepted, rejected, or deferred. The matter is out of your hands.

it doesnt matter what school you went to. they arent accepting your high school, they are accepting you. the admissions officers arent going to be like "omg, ANOTHER application from this high school?!? eww lets reject him"

Haha, I remember last year when my online account said (on like January 14, 13 days past the deadline) that I hadn't sent in my transcript. I called the admissions office and the women I spoke to literally went "oh, I paperclipped it to the wrong part of the folder. Sorry!" And everything was fine. Seriously, stop freaking out.

err regadalf.. your situation scares me.. What if this woman could not remember. Also I have a question, how long does it take for them to sort out all the mails and update the accounts?

yea, i'm pretty sure that my guidance office and 2nd teacher sent out their stuff really close to November 1st...when can I expect that everything will be in?

Guidance definitely sent in my stuff more than a week ago but Cornell apparently hasn't processed anything. Rawr.

same here! if they dont get processed by friday, im prolly gunna call in

my common app hasnt even been processed yet

I sent my common app and supplement in 10 mins before the online deadline closed. lol. I'm so hardcore. But so far, they've only processed those two things. My ACT score, SAT IIs, recs, school forms..etc etc all haven't been received. I'm sort of worried...because I know my teachers sent out their recs a week before they were due...when should I start calling to check on them?

they probably won't have those processed until Nov 15th

Well...My school sentin the package on Oct 31. It was processed just yesterday....so I'm guessing it takes about 10 days to see the update (?)
