The link doesn’t work.
Isn’t it just 3!*4! = 144? Letters/numbers cannot be repeated.
@halcyonheather i posted the link in the second comment
@MITer94 your right it is 144! But how?? i dont understand this question at all
@DHMIS1 3! ways for the letters (3 spots, no repeats allowed so it’s like putting A, B, C in a line. 3! = 6.
Similarly, 4! = 24 ways to put the numbers in a line, since there are 4 spots.
6*24 = 144
What about the part of the question where its like every possibility has to start with a letter. like that doesnt make sense. By default doesnt every possiblity start with a letter?
Yes - you can essentially ignore that.
It’s not a hard question if you’ve studied permutations, but maybe you haven’t. This Khan Academy [url=<a href=“https://www.khanacademy.org/math/probability/probability-and-combinatorics-topic/permutations/v/factorial-and-counting-seat-arrangements%5Dplaylist%5B/url”>https://www.khanacademy.org/math/probability/probability-and-combinatorics-topic/permutations/v/factorial-and-counting-seat-arrangements]playlist[/url] should help you understand the idea behind questions like this.
DHMIS1 can u post the link again…? I wish to attempt it
Thanx in advance
