Really important question!!

I am planning on transferring to UCB as a CS (L&S) major.
I am going to complete IGETC.

I took English 1 at Santa Monica College (SMC).
Now, I'm looking to transfer to Moorpark College in the Spring semester, and also plan to take English 2 over there. Is is allowed to complete IGETC AREA 1 (English) at different colleges. Like is it okay to complete the IGETC AREA 1A requirement at SMC and the IGETC AREA 1B requirement at Moorpark? Would doing this hurt my chances for admission?

I read the articulation agreement for the major EECS at UCB and at the top it says
"If a series of courses at a community college is required (e.g., English 122 +
123 + 126 = English R1A and R1B). All the courses in the series must be
completed, and must (unless otherwise indicated) be completed at the same
community college. Partial completion (e.g., 2 of the 3 required courses) will
result in zero credit toward the requirement(s), and the applicant will NOT be
considered for admission."

Does this not apply to me then because English R1A/B are not required for the CS L&S major?

yes you can do that. Just make sure you show your counselor an unofficial transcript from the other college showing you completed that specific class and they should be able count it as a completed IGETC course. and No it will not hurt your chances.
