<p>Should I ask or cut my losses and forget the program?</p>
<p>Anyone ever had success with VERY LAST MINUTE rec letters? Any pointers? Google just tells me I should have asked 1 month ago. :/</p>
<p>I needed to get one at the absolute last minute. One of my writers fell off the face of the earth so I had to find someone on Friday to submit a letter by Monday. I called the professor, explained the situation and asked if it was at all possible that he could and would be willing to write me a strong positive letter at such short notice. I had it by the end of the day and I guess it did the trick because I just got my first acceptance. I made sure I was polite, honest and humble. I didn’t hesitate to convey how important the letter would be to my future and I also made sure to follow up with a thank you gift after the letter was written and submitted.</p>
