Okay. I know my involvement is all over the board. I'm not exactly passionate in one particular thing, but my passion is in experiencing new things! (This fall I am going to take ballet and possibly German - seriously.) Does this look like a completely ridiculous resume? I am hesitant to leave things out because I don't want to be dishonest in any way. This demonstrates who I am and what I like doing :)

What are your thoughts, good or bad?

There are some very rare people who really are passionate about doing a lot of very different things. Sounds like you’re one. Perhaps you could focus your essay on why you’ve been involved in so many different types of activities and what you got out of being in them.

It’s a big plus that you have some deep involvement and achievements with several of your activities. If you have excellent academic stats, your ECs could help you stand out even in an Ivy applicant pool.

Thank you!
Wow that makes me feel a lot better.
I was always told my EC record was going to hurt me…

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Okay first of all, I wanted to thank you for your advice on one of my posts, it really helped

Wow! Very involved, very committed. The fact that you do hold substantial leadership positions in many of your activities will definitely help you, and the fact that you have a good variety of work/service/in school/out of school/etc. I don’t think it would really be dishonest to leave out a few activities, but I also don’t think including all of them would hurt you. Just be sure to explain your passion for each one in your essay, additional comments, etc. and make sure your academic record is just as strong.

Keep it up and good luck!!!
