really need help finding a school

i have so many colleges in mind, but i truly have no idea where i want to go. if i could get some suggestions based on my grades, interests, etc. that'd be great. thanks in advance.

around a 3.9 weighted
sat 2140
math- 720
critical- 680
writing- 740
didn't take sat2s yet
aps: calc bc, biology, english
soccer 4 years, golf 2 years
national honors society, peer leadership, bunch of clubs
150+ hours of volunteering with kids
2 summers as counselor

...just a little bit of stats. i'm looking for a school that offers a good writing program. specifically television/film. laid-back school with good academics, but definitely some partying. campus-orientated would be great as well. looking anywhere between 4,000 and 15,000 undergrads. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks a lot.

buuummmmppppppp

I would look at schools like Ithaca, USC, Loyola Marymount, DePaul, Syracuse and Emerson. Best of luck!

Oh goodness....with stats like that you will be fine. Elon University in Greensboro North Carolina has a SUPERB Communications/Film department and Journalism as well. Its laid back and friendly but academically challenging without being frenetic. Great sports on campus Div I. Friendly people abound there. They are HUGE into study abroad and almost require its students to do so. A real gem that is up and coming rapidly. With your stats scholarship money will likely be offered.

But your stats are also high enough for UNC so give that a shot as well.

Think about Wake, Davidson, Furman, Emory, Vandy, UVa etc.

USC is a good match.

Pepperdine has a new program, MFA in writing for screen and television to keep in mind if you wish to do graduate work one day.

UMiami, USC and FSU all have great Comm Schools.
UMiami and USC have about 10,000 students while FSU is about 40,000.

^^^^Actually, USC has more than 33,000 students. I do agree that all 3 have good communication schools.

For TV/Film production, FSU is considered one of the nation's best (Top 5). USC could arguably be considered the best of the best.

Hahah, I feel like a broken record, repeating on this - so many people looking for writing programs! For a safety (though it's more (only?) known for its Creative Writing program and not much in the TV/Film production part) consider University of Iowa. It should be a cake to get into with your qualifications.

Also, I don't know much, really, but look into some UC schools. I think some of them are supposed to have great connections to the Film/TV productions industry (proximity to Hollywood etc does help, anyways). Can't really say much to the ACADEMIC program there, but the opportunities for real life things should abound. :)

usc and miami have been on my top list of schools for some time. usc is obviously great for this particular field, but what about miami? does it have that good of a program in film/television?

You should be looking at Chapman U in Orange, CA. Very well connected and highly regarded in the industry. Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University

You have the right stats for admission to Chapman in general, probably with merit aid, except that I don't know how difficult it has become to get admitted to the film-tv college, including the writing program.

well, i really don't want to go to an actual film school. just a college that offers a good program in it... back to my other question. how good is umiami's tv/film program?

any answers to the question above?
