So I am currently graduating a year early from high school, and my GPA is at 2.9 since I am now doing both my jr. and senior together in one. The problem is, is that I have to do college admissions in the fall, and I want to raise my GPA at least to a 3.4 or higher this year, but if I apply for college, I will have to send them my transcript, where the GPA is at 2.9. Can someone please help me out on this? I'm applying to art colleges in Mnahttan such as SVA, Pratt, Parsons, and etc. to study Graphic Design and Photography. My counselor doesn't help me at all on this stuff and I really need advice. I need to get a scholarship because my parents have n money at all, and I am going to be doing financial aid, but it would really help to get a scholarship.

The people you need to talk to for appropriate advice are your art instructors. Your portfolio may be much more important than your GPA. For more ideas, start here: [Visual Arts and Film Majors - College Confidential](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/visual-arts-film-majors/)

Heed your art instructors’ advice. Remember, they have no monetary gain involved in “selling” you any particular school. No matter what happens avoid (like the plague) any recruiters from for-profit art colleges. Scams by and large – leaving unemployed but about-to-default-on-debt students all over the place.

My problem is that the instructor in my school doesn’t approve of me graduating early, and as well, he is a really nasty person. He’s never liked me, or my work, and he used to “lose” my work constantly and fail me. He would give me bad grades for things he didn’t like, and not because they weren’t done correctly, because they were, it’s that he didn’t like them. So im really dead in the water when it comes to my instructor. And my guidance counselor is completely no help what so ever. But my focus isn’t how terrible the educational system in my school is, my focus is really on what I should do, considering my circumstance.
But, I very much appreciate your consideration AND the link, both have very much helped! The link really gave me some good information which was helpful!

why not just graduate on time?
