REALLY need help for income input for UC APP

<p>Okay, so basically the UC app is asking for our GROSS income, before any deductions. Correct? The problem is, my dad owns his own business. Our annual total income is $62,000...but what we REALLY keep is only $17,000. I asked my teacher which one to put down, and he said put down the $17,000, but the website is asking for the $62,000, correct? And for most people, the incomes are both similar. But for our family it is a HUGE difference. I'm conflicted, because that is a huge difference. I called the UC admissions office and they told me that they "can't say" what to do.</p>

<p>I really don't know what to do. I'm scared of it affecting me.</p>

<p>They’re not asking for “net income” (the amount you get to keep).</p>

<p>I know they aren’t. I’m wondering of how important this report was, because in reality, we don’t get a whole lot out of that 60k</p>

<p>Do the 60K. It’s better to say more than less because they may think you are cheating if you do the 17K. Did you check the actual tax form? It should have a space for gross income.</p>
