i got accepted into gtown and GWU. i have visited both places and i really like GWU. dont like the look of gtown and i was really dissapointed because everyone looked stuck up. Both schs have other strong departments but i plan to be a premed student and i'm not sure which sch has the better biology/science department. Which sch do you think is better for pre-med? i really need help to decide.
thanks in advance

help pls!!!

Go to GWU, hands down. You clearly prefer it and that is far more important than any minute differences in the universities.

thanks…but i really need to know which sch has the better premed program.

Go to Georgetown, if for whatever you reason you change your mind about medical school in college you will regret not going to Georgetown.

What do you mean by pre-med program? Pre-med programs typically consist of advising and maybe an email listing that lets you learn about pre-med related things. Advising on things outside of academic scheduling and stuff generally is only as reliable as your own ability to read things online and scan through some books. I personally never used my schools “pre-med program”. I found the things I was interested and did them. When I wanted to do research, I found it through a general school email for it or through my own initiative of looking up professors that were looking to get more undergrads in their labs. I stopped into the advising office once to do a mock interview and once to have my transcript sent off for applications. The latter was probably the most valuable thing I got out of the office because it saved me time. If by program you mean opportunities for pre-med activities, you are going to find organizations, hospitals, and clubs at both schools that will be more than sufficient to achieve your goals and focus on your interests. If by program you mean science department, a undergrad science class is an undergrad science class. There is not some super secret information that more sciency schools have, nor do more research oriented schools necessarily have better teachers for those general classes. They might not seem it, but that stuff is way below the PhD level of knowledge of your instructor regardless of the institution. You are going to go to class, hear lectures on essentially the same material, and read more or less the same textbook depending on your professor’s preference. You are not going to find yourself at a disadvantage on the MCAT or during medical school by taking science classes at GWU vs Georgetown.

I stand by my previous post, go to GWU. Even IF there was a better pre-med program at Georgetown, you clearly don’t like it there. Do not underestimate happiness as a factor in your productivity and ability to succeed and thrive at a school.

Double post.

i’d really like some more input
