really need some help and advice regarding AP Comparative Government and Politics

So for next year, I was going to do an Independent Study with a teacher at my school, who has previously taught it. He and my guidance consular (mainly my guidance consular) decided that it would be bad for me, and are not allowing me to do it. So, now I am going to self-study it. I have looked for study books such as Barron's, Kaplan, Princeton Review...etc and have yet to find any for AP Comp. Gov-are there any? Also what would be a good textbook to purchase, and if you've self-studied Ap Comp. Gov, what did you do, and what would you recommend/not recommend?
Lastly, I really believe that if you want to do something academically, you should be able to- I've overridden course recommendations the whole thing. So should I get my parents involved, and pursue the issue? The main reason I am upset is because doing it with a teacher would be so much beneficial, I could go at my own pace (which I tried to explain to them), and I would also get a grade for it (an A which I would expect). What should I do?
Thank you!!!

Firts of all, it’s spelled “counselor” not “consular.”

Second, just purchase Ethel Woods Comparative Government. Just read it all. That’s all you need for a 5.

Third of all, Comp Gov is freaking easy dw bout it.

Wow you’re rude, sorry auto correct changed it for me. Like honestly?

Bumpppppppppp
