<p>Do colleges hold materials (transcript, recommendations, SAT scores, etc) even if I didn't submit my online application yet?</p>
<p>I don't want to take away my teachers' time, so I want to ask for rec in a whole. (I am applying to 12 colleges)</p>
<p>yep. as soon as they receive some app. materials (recs, test scores etc.) from you, they open a file with your name on it.</p>

<p>Although this Yale admissions officer warned us that recs have been lost before because the student had not submitted his online application...</p>
