Really showing personality in one's application is good or not good?

In all my applications I sent out this year, I really showed my personality and what kind of person I am. My essays reflected my cheerful and playful side while at the same time they also displayed seriousness and maturity. I think my applications really convey who I am as a person and my principles. So now it's like 2 months into the application process and I'm wondering if it was a bad idea what I did. Do admissions officer appreciate this?

They do appreciate it (for good and bad). It will immediately tell them if you will fit in.

yes, this is the point of the essay a.k.a. personal statement.

Ha, I guess that would depend on whether or not you have a favorable personality.

But to answer your question, yes. It is much easier to reject scores than people.

So it can be both advantageous and disadvantageous? Should I have just stuck to the bland essay to be safer?
