really trying to transfer bing

Hey guys,

I'm currently a sophomore at SUNY Geneseo. I want to transfer into the SOM at Binghamton for my junior year. I know it's very difficult to transfer in, but I've been hearing a lot of different facts ranging from a 3.3-3.8 to be accepted.

My GPA is a 3.54 now, expecting it to be a 3.6 hopefully after this semester. I've taken all the basic classes like Macro/Micro economics, Financial/managerial accounting, business calc, and a some other business classes that I'm not sure if it would transfer in..

I'm involved in some clubs in my school, I'm on the dean's list and part of a business fraternity

I was wondering if I had a chance getting into SOM and if there was anything I needed to do or classes I should take to help boost my chances.

please help me out guys, and thanks ahead of time!

I think you have a decent to above average chance of getting into Bing’s SOM. You have a good GPA along with a decent amount of credits. As long as it is a 3.5+, you should be decent.

I will be transferring to Binghamton SOM (for accounting) from Baruch college though and as a freshman…

The average GPA of students who transfer to Binghamton is a 3.4, and we must remember that many of them are coming from uncompetitive community colleges (unlike Geneseo.) Hence, your chances are very strong.

thanks guys, this is really helpful. My grade last semester was 3.82, and now I’m adjusting all my classes this semester so that they would transfer into bing’s curriculum and count.

I’m not sure if thats stupid or not, should I apply to other schools for safety…? or do you guys think I have a likely chance…?

I wouldn’t worry. ^

Can you say why you want to leave Gen for Bing? We’re you unhappy with G?

Sorry to steal the thread.
But wondering about my chances.

Wondering what my chances are, reality speaking.

My GPA is a 3.47 from the University of Scranton as a biology major. What are my chances?

I transferred from Cortland to Bing because I felt unhappy there, but so far it’s been a huge culture shock going from a small SUNY to a big one. I really hope that I can make it through.

Hi I was wondering if someone could tell me my chances of transferring into Binghamton University School of Management. I am a second semester freshmen from SUNY Stony Brook. I was deferred from Binghamton as a hs applicant.
