Really want to get into Stern

<p>NYU stern is one of my top three choices for schools (the others being Wharton and UT BHP), but I'm only doing RD</p>

<p>The Numbers:
GPA: around 4.1/5.0
Rank: Around top 7% (not sure, since new ranks havent come out yet)
SAT I: M - 780 // W - 780 // CR - 710
SAT II: Math II - 800 // Physics - 740
ACT: 34
AP Scores (courses and scores):Human Geo-4 // Psych-4 // BC Calc-5 // APUSH-4 // Eng Lang/Comp-5 // Comp Sci A-4 // Comp Sci AB-na // Macroeconomics-na // Government-na // Statistics-na // Physics C-na // Eng Lit-na </p>

<p>-all the na AP scores are my senior classes.</p>

<p>-I butchered my rank in 9th grade (around top 50%), so i've really had to get my game together to bring it up these last few years. I don't know how picky nyu is on that, but i really want to get into stern. </p>

<p>I am an Asian Male, do not necessarily need financial support, but family might struggle somewhat without it. I go to a public school (largest graduating class in the nation) in Texas, and the first child in my family to go to college in America. I learn martial arts outside of school, but do not participate competitively. </p>

<p>Assuming my essays turn out fine, what are my chances? I've heard of some pretty qualified people from our senior class last year getting rejected, so I'm a little concerned. </p>

<p>Well, you look like you are spreading yourself thin in terms of EC's and the amount of clubs you have high leadership roles in. And is your GPA a 82%? Well, I think you can get into Stern if you write good short responses in your application, and if you have a good essay. I wrote about visiting my Grandfather in Brooklyn who had Emphysema, and how he still ran four grocery stores and how I learned the tricks of the trade................and what do you know! <p>I got in ED and my stats werent nearly as good as yours. But then, I am a URM =] I think you have a very good shot, and you should get into one of your top 3 choices.</p>
