I am a Junior Transfer from a California CC and will have 65 units by Spring 15 before transfer. I am so dead-set on attending UCLA!

GPA: 3.63

Major: Sociology

Personal Statements: Really persuasive and made many revisions!

IGETC will be completed before transfer.

Major Pre-Reqs are done except for STATS which will be completed in Spring before transfer. (Does this matter? Because the UCLA rep I spoke to said it does not, as long as it is finished before transfer.)

I have a volunteer experience which relates to my major with plenty of hours.

I started out poorly, but my grades show an upward trend.

Did not participate in Honors Program.

Any advice / forewarnings could help! And @Cayton could you answer this if able?

Well, if the UCLA rep says that you just need to complete stats by the end of transfer, then I think you’re good to go with regards to major pre-req completion.

^According to this, average admitted GPA for your major is 3.71. With your GPA, personal statement, and ECs, you seem to be in a good position, but sociology is really impacted. UCLA does holistic admissions, so if you have a strong personal statement(And you probably do if you had it revised and looked over by others) and good ECs, you should be competitive in my opinion. Best of luck.

I wish I could give a more helpful and specific response, but yeah, you seem to be in relatively good shape.
