<p>I have very low income and I want to go into the UC but when I looked at the cost for the UCs (including books,tution fees, housing and utilities, food, personal and transportation) it freaked me out because the grants cant cover the whole thing. My question is that is there any other free money that is given to freshman undergraduate students. Help me reduce my worries!!!!!!!!!</p>
<p>most will come from merit based and loans,
its a public school afterall where most kids do need aid,
thass where private schools are good, they got more free money because most kids there are rich and can accmodate whole tuition + donations :)</p>
<p>if you have $0 EFC, the UCs will likley grant you about half the COA and give you loans for the rest. You can try for some merit $, some of which do not take away from your grants.</p>
