Really Worried :(

I'm a college freshman at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, GA, and really hate it here. I'm from Massachusetts, and would like to be back home. UMass-Amherst would be ideal, if I can get in. I already filled out the CommonApp for UMass, but I'm feeling a little uneasy about my chances.

Major: Intended Double Major-- History and Pre-Law

GPA (from first semester only 9 credit hours): ~2.7
GPA (including this semester which finishes May 8th): ~3.13-3.3

SAT Score (from high school): ~1690

Extracurricular Activities: Founded, served as President of chapter of what is now the 22nd best NPDA Debate Team in the nation at the University of North Georgia (Also founded debate team at my high school), Research Analyst for Student Government Association (very active), Founded, selected as Interim Co-President of Model UN at UNG as well (again, also founded, and served as Treasurer at my high school), Treasurer of College Democrats (please don't hold it against me ) and very active politically in State of Georgia and sometimes elsewhere, such as volunteering in Virginia, Treasurer of Pre-Law Society, Also founded, lead a chapter of Students for the Best Georgia PAC

Recommendations: I should have at least one very good recommendation, but could have at least one other good one, possibly a third if necessary (professor, debate coach, advisor).

Please let me know if you guys need any more info or have any tips. This really would be my ideal college if I could get in,. I hope my stats aren't too dismal.. First semester was complicated.. I got in over my head with 8 credits of Chinese.

I reeeeally want to go here, guys. It's super ideal for my circumstances. I have a grandmother who I'm close to who lives in Agawam, who I just found out has cancer, there are plenty of political campaigns and offices I could work for, and I know the area. Please help me have the best possible chance of getting in! Thanks in advance.

Why don’t you like it there?

It’s awfully small and just not what I’m looking for in a college. And I miss Massachusetts.

Thats a low GPA and a low SAT score

You GPA score is really low. I think for better future every student must keep their GPA around 3.5. You have 3 semester left. Work hard it will change.

So do I not have a chance?
