Realtor Etiquette

Great style but horrible construction. It had originally been a one story brick bungalow and was bought by an architect who essentially tore out the old house from the inside and rebuilt it as a two story - while he was living there with his wife and baby. He did as much as possible by himself and it showed. It seemed like every repairman who came in the first years always said, “Hmm, I never saw anything like that before…”

The Realtor who said we would better off selling as a tear down was on target.

Oh - the Realtor who sold us that house was the father of a friend. He should have been much more aware of the issues but we were naive.

Ugh, last night I drove by the lot in Austin where my BFF’s parents’ house stood until it was sold and torn down last year. It was a classy house. Now a monstrosity is going up. It swallows the whole lot. It has to be at least 6,000 square feet. BFF said she doesn’t want to drive by to see it. I don’t think I will tell her what it looks like.

Speaking of clutter and/or clean presentation:

How would you react if you came home to this?
