So I got accepted to Cornell but sadly not to the Major I intended which is Civil Engineering. I also got accepted to my second choice school which is University of Arizona and I got into their Engineering program there. But I would much rather go to Cornell. Should I just accept Cornell and reapply to their Engineering program next year?

Well thats up to you personally if I was accepted to Cornell but they wouldn’t let me major in biology I would say take a hike ;). Biology is my favorite subject and I really can’t see myself major in anything else. I’m not going to let a school stop me from studying my favorite subject. If you much rather go to Cornell but don’t mined majoring in something else go for it. But if your as close to your major as I am, go to Arizona

Wait so what were you accepted to within cornell? And if so you had to have gotten in ED right? Meaning you should have withdraw your UA app…

If you really want to do Civil Engineering at Cornell, consider matriculating, then doing an internal transfer. I’m not sure how easy it would be to get into the Engineering college, but you can always try.

Cornell and Arizona State are such different schools and environments… Cornell is known for rigorous academics. Arizona State is known for rigorous partying and ridiculously hot girls.

In the end, go with Arizona State if you are looking for some good time. Go to Cornell if your priority is having access to top notch education, at the cost of sacrificing social life. (Cornell won’t be as fun as ASU)

Go to Cornell and then reapply! Of course I strongly recommend trying new things! :)

University of Arizona, not ASU
