Reapply to PENN?

I applied in my freshman year of college, flat out rejected, wondering if reapplying would show interest or just look pathetic to adcoms. I've maintained a 4.0 GPA (majority of grades are A+'s) at a state school of decent repute, but my HS GPA was pretty horrible at around 3.3. No surprises regarding their decision to reject my application.

Thoughts?

To mitigate your high school record, apply for junior standing. It does NOT look pathetic at all; in point of fact it shows interest and can work in your favor. (Does not work in your favor as a freshman if your high school record is as you say it is.) If you’re set on Penn, wait a year and boost your college record.

Actually, I didn’t apply to Penn in my senior year of high school; “I applied in my freshman year of college”. So, I’ve attempted transfer admissions once already.

Ah, I see. Apply then! With a solid record and good essays/recs, your chances are decent. I’ll be happy to read your essays and help you edit when the time comes.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice :)

How’s the SAT scores and all that jazz?

But I’d say, if it’s somewhere you really want to go, it’s worth re-applying.

SATs were 2070.
