So recently I was rejected on an appeal from UCB and UCLA. Actually i was rejected by every UC I applied to. My GPA before the appeal was recorded as a 2.8 but after my academic renewal my GPA was adjusted to a 3.42. I was thinking of staying behind one more year instead of attending SFSU due to the fact that the program is not good at all.
(Later…)
Now, I have another concern, so my GPA actually was just adjusted and it is a 3.42. Also, my anthropology teacher just encouraged me to stay behind and reapply. Since I am a Linguistics major, I was thinking of taking more language classes. Does anyone have any advice on how to stand out as a prospective Linguistics major? I am a published journalist and I have received several awards for my writings. I am the president of a club that I have founded that deals with writing. I have an Associates in English. I love words period. My Linguistics abstracts have received recognition in the HTCC. And so on so forth. And I have done all of this while participating in student government, athletics, other organizations including honors club. I have a 4.0 in all of my Language classes. And I am a former foster youth and I have been in periods of homelessness all while trying to maintain my insignificant GPA. I honestly just want to stand out. Any advice what should I do.
Also I have one more school to appeal to and that is UCSB.
