Reapplying to an already accepted university. Want to transfer out of the one I went to.

Sorry the title is poor, I can’t think of an easy way of asking it. So lets say I got into College A, but went to College B. I’m attending College B right now. Should I try to transfer into College A in the spring or wait until the fall? Also should I use the same essay as I did to get into College A? Should I apply as a transfer student or a first year? I’m a freshman.

Why don’t you give College B a chance?

I agree with the above. You can also contact college A and ask if they will simply reactivate your application, as you were already accepted.

Since you are now attending college B you will have to apply as a transfer student. You don’t get a do-over; all colleges you attend have to be included on applications.

@chungusx7 My S applied to a school 2 years ago and was accepted but decided not to attend. He was told by this college (in writing) if he changed his mind they will keep his app and acceptance active for 2 years. I was both surprised and impressed with this policy. Check with the school you might want to transfer to. Maybe there is a policy that your app is still active for a certain amount of time. Some schools realize that students sometimes are not happy where they chose to attend. Although, I think this school has an exceptionally lenient policy and probably is far from normal. Good luck!

Also, if you have gotten any scholarships, find out what will happen. Will you be eligible for them at College A?

My suggestion to you right now, however, is to give College B a chance. You have been there for what, 2 weeks? Also most colleges make you wait a year before you can transfer to them (check out what college A says).
