Reapplying to an internship/job

Hi,

I was wondering how the reapplication process works. I am applying to several different internships as a sophomore, but I doubt I'll get considered for many of them. If I reapply my junior year, will they consider me again from scratch?

I know on many of the websites the application section only lets you associate one account per email. So if I am using my school email to apply this year and am denied, and if I apply again next year, will they see on my application profile on their website that I tried applying last year and was not considered and thus automatically skip me over for consideration again?

Last semester I applied to an internship and interviewed but did not receive an offer. The same company came to recruit interns again this semester and when I applied they did not even offer me the chance to interview this time around, I'm guessing because they saw that I already got denied last semester.

So if I apply to that internship again next year with more experience under my belt, would they still reject me straight off the bat just because I got rejected last year? I am asking because I am wondering if I should wait till my junior year to apply to other internships so that I don't sabotage myself early on.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer!

Yes. Typically, the HR system is cleaned out given that the new position will have a new set of applicants. (i.e. for most companies you apply to multiple job possibilities. No one takes count of the ones you’ve already applied to.)

No. This is not the case. Its simply that you weren’t chosen this time around.

Yes, i agree with j89’s assesment. That is most likely the case.

It should be taken into account that a candidate can apply for various positions according to the skills.
