Reapplying to UCLA

I heard from someone that if you get rejected from UCLA and you reapply the following year they rarely change their minds. Is this true? If so, should I consider not applying to LA this year since I dont have much of the major prereqs done?

That is completely untrue! I highly reccomend that if you want to give it another shot then do so. The main reason why some people would say this is because when the person sends in an application a second time little has changed from their first application. If you raise your GPA and complete more of your prerequisites I highly urge that you apply again. But if your application has not really changed do not expect to get a diffrent result especially if you do not get your preq's done because this is very important for UCLA. But no they do not take into consideration if you have already applied the previous year. What are your current stats?

bumbum- what is your major?

If your major is competitive you should have all your pre-reqs done by the spring before you transfer. By the time you apply during fall, you should have most of your pre-reqs done, I'd say about 2/3 to 3/4s done. What is your major? And that myth your friend said, it is not true. By the 2nd time you reapply, your application must be stronger than the previous one. Although, people who do reapply usually have a higher chance of getting in BECAUSE their application is stronger than the first, such as better essays, pre-reqs done, GEs done, and etc.

If your 2nd application is identical or about the same as the 1st one, your chance of getting in can't be too likely.

im applying as a bizecon major, probably the most competitive major at ucla lol.

but yeah, part of the reason Im considering not applying this year is cause I wont be able to complete the math requirement by this spring. Im enrolled in precalc this fall, so i'd have to take one semester of calc the following spring and then the second semester of calc during summer.

im probably gonna get rejected, and assuming I don't get into USC either (knock wood)...id have to stay another year @ my community college. my 2nd app will be a lot better though, by then I'll have IGETC done (I have about 80% of it completed right now) and I'll be 2 courses away from completing TAP. all my major reqs will be completed, too.

Yea it would very difficult to get into UCLA Biz Econ without your major preq's completed.

dumdum- apply for next year when your done w/ pre-req.
