I don't mean to sound ignorant but I was wondering if anyone knows the specific reasons why UF decided to change admissions to just 1 deadline.

UF stops Early Decision Admissions

Three leading American universities (Princeton University, University of Florida, and Harvard College) announced that they were discontinuing their Early Decision admissions in an effort to help foster economic diversity in their student bodies. The problem with Early Decision admissions is that it ultimately forces a student to accept an offer of admission before evaluating the financial aid offers of multiple universities. It should be noted that a leading college board states that any prospective student "should not apply under an Early Decision plan if he or she plans to weigh offers and financial aid packages from several colleges later in the spring". UF's single application deadline is now going to be set for late November.

OO thanks...is that really the only reason though? It seems as if it would have some other benefits for UF such as how it would raise stats and give it a lower acceptance percentage

Maybe, but more likely they did it to have a higher "Yield Rate".
