Is there a reason why students who applied for early action just like myself are already finding out admissions decisions and I have not? Do they do it by who applies first and whose file is complete? Because if so, I applied EA on Oct 27th and got a email saying that my file is complete on Nov 17th. Then I got the same email saying my file was complete on Dec 9th. Will I find out soon or am I gonna have to wait until early feb like the website says for EA candidates? Thank You!

Call the admissions office to find out the status of your application.

They won’t let you check your status. I applied a little earlier than you did, trackkid4224, and I still haven’t heard back lol

My son applied mid November. He didn’t hear anything for almost 4 weeks. Last week he got on their admissions chat line and asked about his status. They told him within minutes that they got his application and it was being processed. He got his admission letter yesterday.

Use the email chat line - only open M-W 5-9 PM. They will chck database and give you status of application. Not decision process obviously, but you at least can be assured that the app is complete and in the hands of the admissions commitee.

My son’s app was completed just before 12/1. I confirmed on 11/30 - using the chatline - that it was complete and going to the admissions committe that week. He has not heard yet. Hoping he hears next week - otherwise, I guess it will drag into early January. I’m assuming they do not work the holiday week. If so, I guess late in the week of 1/4 will be when letters start to arrive again.

where can you find this chat line?

Actually, I think they don’t have to let you know until February.

I applied on October 1st and I still havent heard… ugh! this is so annoying.

I hope no one grows discouraged! I know when I was applying to undergraduate schools, I was extremely anxious for letters. But don’t worry! You will get it soon enough!

Hope everyone enjoys their holiday season! (Try not to think about college; relax!)

I applied early and didn’t get a response until January.

Be patient, Philosopher is right.

My daughter applied early October. Got an email a few weeks ago that her application was complete and that she would hear in February. Needless to say, we were surprised to get the acceptance letter this week! There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason…

Yeah, many people in my school were getting in before me and I applied in the beginning of October to the College of Engineering. I got my acceptance letter this week; and people began getting them in the beginning of the month. A letter will come soon.

crap. I got a letter from them on friday the 18th…i got deferred =[ lol now i have to wait til april!!!

deferred as in waitlisted?

No, deferred means you are sent into the RD applicant pool

0000001 - did you get an email from UCONN saying your app is complete or just the acceptance packet in the mail last week?

I got 2 emails from UConn - one in Nov and one in Dec. saying they had all of my items…then I got my acceptance letter last week.

no just pushed into Regular decision and they said they will notify RD candidates by april

I never got any of those emails. I sent my electronic application on 11/15 and I still have not heard anything. I just looked at my application and it does not indicate early action anywhere like the common app does.
