So I took AP Biology this year and got an A in the class with a 5 on the AP exam. I took the SAT II for Bio in June and got a 730 without studying (last time I touched anything biology related was the weekend before AP exams). Would it be possible to boost that score to around a ~790-800? Is it worth it to retake?

I also got a 710 in Math 2 without studying, and I consider myself a pretty strong in math, would studying allow me to achieve ~790-800?

Preferably, I want to get an 800 in both Biology and Math 2, but how much time would I have to devote to it? Considering that I also need to study for SAT reasoning.

BTW, is Cliffs good for the SATII Biology? It was pretty good for the AP exam, but I'm not sure how good it was for the SATII since I didn't look over it before I took the test. Should I get something that was made specifically for the SATII Biology?

If you study, then you should be able to get in that score range, assuming you haven’t completely forgotten everything from AP Bio. The retake, in my opinion, won’t be worth it unless you do increase your score considerably.

Again, with practice, I see no reason why you shouldn’t get the score you want.

It varies from person to person. You should continue to study and take practice tests until you feel confident, but keep in mind that the SAT reasoning test is ultimately more important.

I think Cliffs is fine for the Bio subject test, but if you want something tailored for it, then I would go with Barrons.

A good math student should be able to score 750-800 on the IIC effortlessly. I wouldn’t bother preparing for it if your scoring so low, but the Biology is definitely improvable. A 730 is worth retaking.

You can be as dumb as a rock and get an 800 on the Bio. It only requires memorization and effort, not aptitude.

You could prepare all day for the IIC and end up with a 750. It requires some innate intelligence.

^^one of my doobie classmates studied extremely hard for the math iic and got a 730. She took did after school tutoring with a math teacher… I put 1 hour of study time in and got an 800. We are in the same grade level.
