Reasonable Hotels Near UCLA

any suggestions for places that are decent (no dives please) and moderately-priced?

You could try to UCLA Guesthouse. The cost is $105 per night (no tax on the cost). Or, alternatively, there are several hotels a few blocks from campus like the Tiverton House, which costs the same as the UCLA Guesthouse, or the Renaissance Hotel--I am not sure how much that one costs. Usually, UCLA has a list of accommodations on their website either in the orientation section or another area for admitted students.

Both the UCLA Guest House and the Royal Palace Hotel in Westwood have served me well.

you could try The W =D

My wife and I stay at the Inn at Playa del Rey, which is a great place a couple of blocks from the beach. (We stayed at the W once and thought it was overpriced, and haven't had any luck getting reservations at the guest house.) It's near the 405, about five minutes or so from LAX, and would be only ten minutes from campus if there weren't any traffic--unfortunately, there almost always is. Here's their website: http://www.innatplayadelrey.com/

Has anybody stayed at Hilgard Houae in Westwood?

Hilgard House serves as housing for students.

Thanks, I was able to get in to the Guest House although I'll probably have to park in an overflow lot somewhere.
