"reasonably priced" hotels near GW?

I'm planning to take my daughter to see GW (and Georgetown) and am having sticker shock of the hotel prices. Any advice on a nearby hotel that won't blow the budget? THanks!

you can stay in arlington, va. it’s only a few metro stops away on the same blue/orange line as gw and should be about $100/night cheaper

We visited GWU w/my daughter last year during spring break, which happened to fall within the Cherry Blossom festival, and even with lots of advance planning, we had a very hard time finding anyplace near DC (even in Arlington and elsewhere outside of the city) under $250/nt.

Someone recommended a place called the Remington to me, which is actually an apartment building that caters mainly to travelers who are in DC longer term, many of whom work for the Dept of State. It’s in Foggy Bottom, within a few blocks of GW, near the Watergate building and the Kennedy Center.

The rates at the height of the tourist season were $150/nt, which was over $100 lower than any other place in the area. Our room (actually a suite) was gigantic, compared to a normal city hotel room, because it had a living area w/pullout couch (perfect for our daughter) plus a bedroom w/a queen bed (perfect for hubby and me) as well as a kitchenette. It was clean and well run, although certainly not chic nor high end. Here’s the website - [Welcome to Remington Executive Suites!](remington-dc.com)

My understanding is that they do not advertise for regular hotel guests because they prefer longer term guests but usually have space and are willing to fill the rooms. You can’t beat the location in terms of being close to GWU, and the price is incredible for what you get! Best of luck.

Rosslyn/Arlington is more reasonable than Dc & is very conventient to both GW and Georgetown. There are lots of hotels there.

I stayed at The Circle Hotel at One Washington Circle. It’s literally on the edge of campus (a block or two away from Admissions Office) and a healthy walk/short bus ride to Georgetown. We payed $130-150 for 1 night. There was 1 bed, 1 pull out couch and a kitchen! I dont know why there was a kitchen…
