How long has everyone known they wanted to go to Princeton? Did you work for it your entire high school career or what?

I have an aunt who used to live in the Princeton area, and first became interested in the school through her. The first time I visited campus, I fell in love.. and applying was a no-brainer.

Luckily I was fortanute enough to get in. There were some other schools I really liked, but it ultimately came down to gut. And Princeton just felt so right, so that's where I'm headed this Fall.

(It's a very tough place to turn down--I have been told this, and concur).

I actually applied just for the heck of it--the "it sounds like a great school so why not give it a shot?" kind of thing--but my interview got me on the track of becoming genuinely interested in (and later in love with :) ) Princeton.

I just applied randomly to all the top schools. I wasn't attached to any college in particular, I just applied because I had to, for my parents. Good thing I ended up really liking Princeton!

I was actually in love with Yale up until junior year and worked toward that goal -- I didn't even look at Princeton (or any other school) seriously until junior year. After I visited everywhere after junior year, Princeton became my clear #1. :)

I didn't really work towards colleges. I just did school and applied to some places I recognized come application time. I'll admit it--I was one of those kids who saw Princeton on the CommonApp and decided to apply because I recognized the name.
Fastforward to April. The financial aid package almost sealed my decision straight off, but I was reluctant until I visited.

I am int'l and didnt consider applying to U.S. universities until April last year. I just applied to a bunch of top schools. Originally I had wished I'd get into MIT but I ended up liking Princeton very much.

Princeton has been my top choice since my freshman year of high school. I have had two great teachers, both Princeton alums, who told me about the school and their experiences there. You could say with their encouragement and support, I may not have ended up in the Class of '10, so I'm really grateful to them. Unfortunately one of them passed away before I had a chance to say thank you.
