first I was hesitant of Middlesex because unlike kaf, I thought of a lesser-mature (or more, i guess you could say -_-) wordplay of mx. I'm still hesitant of talking about middlesex in public places because no matter what asian country you're in.. everybody understands what the word "sex" means and definitely WILL ostracize you solely from saying it (then again I don't get why I'd care about being ostracized by strangers)

I was wrong, I'm glad I realized that. I loveee mx.

Aside from the fact I didn't like a large school, I didn't like Exeter because it was too math-reputed and because to me, it sounded like "executioner."

groton sounded like a milk ad for some reason, but I ended up applying anyways because i lovee groton (actually, I thought of the milk ad thing when I thought the correct pronunciation was "grow ton")

I think the Hun School of Princeton will get a few double takes. It sure did with me. I mean, Hun school??? I immediately thought of the huge guys from Mulan, god. And I thought of bear fur coats and ugg boots on them LOL.

Lawrenceville reminded me of a town. Or a river. :D

(You know, this is fun. I know I'm not really keeping up with the topic, as I applied/did not apply to these schools not because of the name thing, but just because of how I evaluated the school. But Oh welllll)

One time I went to a very cheap shopping area (shopping in Asia is nothing like America; if you really want, "thrift stores" are "thrift markets/towns/cities" and they don't really sell tacky clothes anymore. at all.) and this store I really love going to sold "Hotchkiss Denim Jeans" Funn! And of course that Hotchkiss in itself really does sound like "hot kiss" (haha someone said this) And my parents keep thinking of the stapling company.

Choate Rosemary Hall (full name) reminded me of a CLASSIC colonial boarding school. I mean, schools rarely have the name "Hall" anymore, it just sounded that much more "colonial" to me for some reason. And I loved how Choate's one of the few/only schools that can be shortened to one syllable XD

Taft sounded too like "daft" to me. And it reminded me of Tufts University, so I thought it used to be a feeder school or something.

St Paul's reminded me of a very medieval themed school, and the first word I'd associate with the name would be "charming/enchanting." I think it's mainly because of the "St" part. Then again St. Mark's just reminded me of SMS (like messaging LOL)

Andover reminded me of a pidgeon. LOL.
