REC Center classes?

Many of the colleges we’ve toured thus far have offered classes such as spinning, kickboxing and ballet free or for a fee to their students. Some even have personal trainers available (fee)

What does the 'Bama REC Center usually offer?

(And if BALLET isn’t one of the choices, is there a dance/ballet studio near campus?) DD loves ballet and intends to take classes until she’s my age (I took that to mean “forever” ;-)

Ahhhh, found it finally under “group exercise” No ballet though.

Other than this stuff, they offer nothing :)

The link titles are identical, but they take you to different services/activities.

Amazing varity isn’t there? And reformer pilates for $15 - wow!!! a bargain.

DD played select volleyball for years and gave it up after HS freshman year when she narrowed down ec sport to dance. Too bad, because she’s 5-10 and starting to bump into things again (growth spurt) Looks like intermurals is a good possibility.

Aren’t the ballet classes in the Dance major dept? Dance is a major and (I think) a minor. Look in the Dance dept.

They have a couple of intro classes in the cateloge, but they may be learn about ballet, and not actually DO ballet…can’t tell.

She’ll find something…she’s used to dancing five days a week, it is her excercise.

When my daughter was injured this winter and couldn’t run or bike she must have taken every yoga class available. She said they were really well done. Wonder if the rec center would let your daughter teach a ballet class? I know there have to be other students with dance backgrounds who would be interested!

My Dd goes to spin class almost everyday, and recently started weight training. LOTS of options at the rec:)
