<p>hey guys, my teachers already wrote my michigan recs but before they seal the envelope i need to fill out the "student" part...anyway the one part says "um id number if known"-- is that info necessary or no? will it slow down my application? thanks...</p>

<p>Hmmm, you should have gotten one when you started your application. its an 8 digit number. If you have a wolverine access account it will show up there. Maybe you need to send in your application before you get it.</p>
<p>well the application wasnt released yet, just the counselor and teacher rec forms, which i have had completed and sealed. i called the office and they said that i can just leave it blank...</p>
<p>Yeah , you get your UMID only after you complete the application. So no need at all.</p>
<p>I got my UMID number by calling...because i sent scores to them, i already had one..</p>

<p>What if you already have a UM id number from a previous affiliation should you use that one (like a job)</p>
