Rec Letter from Teacher Late

I was just wondering, my application was complete prior to the Nov 1 deadline, the only thing I was waiting for was my teacher recommendation. (He submitted today) Will I be out of the EA pool since my teacher recommendation was late? Also would it be worth it to call the admissions office and find out if my application was still in the EA pool and explain my situation.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Saying your application was complete prior to Nov. 1 and saying items were sent today is a mutually exclusive situation. An application is composed of everything, including the teacher evaluation. Thus, your application wasn’t complete by the EA deadline.

That being said, there is a little bit of a fudge factor with regard to the date and it certainly can’t hurt to call and ask once you’ve given them time to process everything.

Thanks, I’ll be sure to give them a call. And by “you’ve given them time to process everything” how long would you expect that to be.

After you can login and see your application status and required materials in Wolverine Access, which is about 2-3 weeks after you submitted the Common App + Supplement + Payment.

This is more the norm than the exception. Give them a call to be polite, but it won’t affect you.

JJJjust, thanks for everything. And gadad, do you mean it won’t matter it will still be in EA pool or it doesn’t matter it won’t be in EA pool.

Just saw this on the U-M site:

All students who indicated Early Action on their application will receive an email notification by no later than November 25 regarding whether or not they qualified for Early Action

I would still call or sent and email (I emailed a question Sun evening and got a response on Mon)
