I requested for a rec from my teacher as well as a rec from my counselor a month ago. I've checked my application status for multiple schools and they all say that my counselor rec hasn't been received yet, which I assume means that my counselor hasn't sent them out yet.

I talked to my teacher today (who's writing my teacher rec) about how my Trinity EAII deadline was this weekend (which I told her when I first requested it), and she told me she's going to try her best to finish it in time, but she isn't 100% sure she'll be able to, but she said that they will definitely be done by the beginning of next week.

So, the main question is, will my EAII application (for Trinity University) be excepted if I turn in my app and supplement in time, though my teacher and counselor rec letters have not been postmarked by the Dec 15 date?

Colleges receive a lot of mail as application deadlines approach, and they just can't process it as fast as it comes in. There's a very good chance that your counselor's recommendation is sitting in a bin in the admissions office and they simply haven't had the chance to enter it into the computer yet. You should check with her to make sure she did send it, but you're probably fine.

As for your teacher's rec, it's okay if it comes in a couple days late. Colleges expect that some paperwork will trickle in a few days after the deadline, and even if it did arrive on time they wouldn't have time to look at it immediately anyway. They also know that once you give your teacher the rec forms, they're out of your control. So they won't fault you if your teacher mails the rec a bit late.

for the two thousandth time....your application will be accepted if a recommendation is not in hand

think about this logically for a second...do you actually think they can process ALL the paperwork for the thousand of applicants in one day...no...so paperwork like recommendations, transcripts, etc are done AFTER the applications, and are matched up...

if a rec letter arrives early, it is put to the side to be matched up with the arriving application

if a rec letter comes a few days late, it is put in the file with the application

what do you think happens....that anything that arrives with a postmark a day or two late, something that is mailed by a third party is trashed, along with your application, when they can't even get the envelopes all opened in those few days?
