Recalculated GPA

I looked and looked for a thread about this so sorry if it's repetitive. Does Yale recalculate GPA?

Haha, yours is fine.

they definitely take into account AP/honors/IB classes that you’ve taken in conjunction with your unweighted GPA, if thats what it was.
our school doesnt weight, but obviously it sent the transcript with the UW GPA. i think that in and of itself is enough

hmm okay.
So they don’t take out the non-academic classes then? Cause some schools do that. My GPA shoots up when art and music are taken out…so I was just wondering.

Spiralcloud you silly goose. No highly selective institution such as Yale looks at your numeric GPA, they look at the grades you got in your most rigorous (AP/honors) classes.

HAHAHAHA
sorry that really made me laugh. Ah…well if that’s true okay. I really don’t want to do poorly in this whole college admissions thing because I got a few B+'s in music theory.

Is that a yes then, or a no? Because if they do recalculate it I’m much better off.

I’d best advise you to watch this as I’m sure the way Dartmouth conducts admissions is similar to the way Yale does: [Last Minute Application Tips, Lots of information about how we read your applications to help you complete yours.
spiralcloud - I don’t know about Yale, but if you’re applying to Stanford, they recalculate GPA.

Thanks guys!
