reccomend schools/chances, UVA, Gtown

hey guys, i'm hoping that you could recommend some potential transfer schools for sophomore admission that you think'd be a good fit.

HS GPA: 3.5 (5 APs, Chem 5 Calc AB 5, Stat 4, Macro/Micro 3s, Comp sci not taken)
SATI: 2200 (750M/720CR/730W)
SATII: 700 Math I, 730 Math II

Current School: Villanova, chem major
College GPA: 3.94 with 19 credits (Diff Eqs A, Intermediate Spanish A, Intro Philosophy A, Core Humanities A, Inorganic Chem lecture A, chem lab B+)
ECs: I'm in FOCUS fellowship, weekly freshman comm service in philly, treasurer of outdoors club, i work behind the counter at a pharmacy when im at home, chem prof invited me to do summer research with her, (but i can't really put that on my application)

im thinking georgetown, uva...any others?

any thoughts? (10 char)

Hey rollz4

You and I had pretty much the same HS and College stats. nice on

Your college stats look good to me, just make sure you have great recommendations

I transferred to Georgetown as a biochem major this semester and I absolutely love it.

Def PM me for any help

How about Hopkins or cornell?

Good stats! Congratulations!

Scripps
Univ Wisconsin Madison
UMich
UNC
GIT
...
and, just for fun--MIT :), it would not hurt to try, right?

to anyone who cares, i was admitted to the honors program today. woot!

tennis, i will definitely be PMing you at some point, another chem who transferred in with similar stats and willing to share about the experience is a gift from above.

haha and ccTransfer, as a dude, going to scripps would be sweet, but i have a feeling that won't fly with the adcoms. i have a feeling MIT might be (a little....ok alot) out of reach. thanks for the suggestions though, i'll do a little more research about nc, mich and wisconson.

thanks so much for the info...anyone else have any ideas? do UVa and GTown seem like reasonable (50-50) schools?

dnt worry man, i expect lots of ?s b/c I had so many when I was doing it last year too. I really didn't apply to many schools b/c I set my heart on Georgetown University.

Duke
Columbia...just apply to all the ivies why not? ha (except harvard and princeton grr)
U chicago
northwestern
p.s. congrats with the honors program (that's always a +1 to the adcoms)

jeez do you guys really think some of these schools are a possibility, given that I'm applying for sophomore status?

maybe northwestern, but duke columbia and chicago?
or am i just seriously discounting myself?

Well applying for soph status means they look at your hs record more. And your GPA isn't great; but those test scores are marvelous. So I think you have a reasonable shot at those schools-- especially considering your college record.

ps. why can't you put that you did research on an app?

i figure i can't put the research on it because it's a summer plan, and not something that i've actually accomplished as of yet. besides, i may be interning at nestle waters this summer... my interview is on friday fingers crossed

thanks so much for all the insight tennis and cc!

FYI, I'm adding Vanderbilt to my list. I researched Wisconsin, NC, and Michigan, but after speaking to friends from high school who attend the schools, they sound a too big for my tastes. So it's looking like Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Georgetown. Do these sound like decent choices, especially considering that I'd be applying for sophomore status?

I don't know that much about UVA and how much being out of state would affect you; but going purely off of stats you should have a reasonable shot at all of those schools. Good luck with that interview! ( mention the research in the interview!!)
