I was a little dissapointed looking at the meal plans, b/c id heard that most students just get tired of the food in suwanee/fresh foods after awhile and resort to other on campus dining facilitites...OK but im not made of money here! what gives me a balance of food/variety w/o making me starve????????

the 14 meal thing seemed good, but how long do those flexbucks usually last? i mean the idea of only having seven meals a week along w/ 500 dollars for 115 days of school seems impossible, what should i do?

You won’t want to use 14 meals per week, and any other one is overpriced, with the plan price equaling or exceeding the cost of purchasing the meals separately. When I was a freshman and required to do the meal plan, I had the 10 a week. Then weekly 10 plan is the medium between being a ripoff and having too many meals.

have to agree here…my son detests the food at suwanee I had to insist he start using the dining hall because he was eating elsewhere so often…I bought the cheapest plan 125 per semester and I suspect he’ll still have a lot of meals remaining at the end of this semester.

Can you eat at the dining halls and pay by the meal using Garnet Bucks? If so, does the price per meal cover all you can eat for that meal or is it ala-carte pricing?

To be honest most people don’t eat 3 square meals a day and with the dining hall hours it’s a little hard to. I think it’s almost impossible to underestimate how much you will eat there so be conservative. Most people have alot of garnet/flex bucks near the end of the semester and end up eating at chilies alot.

Also consider where you are living, if you live farther (say in degraff like I used to) you will get tired of having to walk so much every time you want to eat. I did and I don’t usually mind walking places ie:if it rains or you are busy with schoolwork.

The meal plans and prices change each year. The 2011-2012 plans/prices will be available online at [Welcome to CampusDish at Florida State University!](http://www.seminoledining.com) after May 1. You can also email the Seminole Dining office with specific questions at seminoledining@fsu.edu.

If your dorm does not require a dorm, cook for yourself.
You can eat far healthier at higher quality then the crap you get at suwanee/freshfoods.
And cancelling the meal plan after the fall for spring semester is a pain in the ass

Sid speaks the truth. Read all of the conditions of the plan before purchasing. I’ve always advocated not purchasing a meal plan unless you live in one of the residence halls that REQUIRES the meal plan. The agreement reads like a scam, and that’s because Aramark is a company with zero integrity.

And do not purchase the block plans; period… I’ll show you why when the new prices are released.

my son’s friend did not have a meal plan but would eat in suwanee from time to time so I assumed he had garnet bucks he used to go right at the end of lunch hours so paid lunch prices and while he was there the food changed to dinner and he could eat that if he wanted
you can get garnet bucks and use them to eat there when they have something good
