Is it a bad thing to send perhaps additional reccs (2) and maybe two personal letters from two bosses you had done volunteerin work with. I mean I feel like it helps me in truly describing different perspectives of me. I mean what do you think of this?
I just feel that after grades, SAT scores — Essays and RECCs can make or break you. Now I would like to know if more positive feedback will come at your benefit?

Depending on the college's policy, it may be OK to send one or two additional recommendations, but 4 is pushing it. There's an adcom saying, "The thicker the file, the thicker the applicant."

Also make sure that the letters say something different about you that was not included in your other recommendations. More isn't necessarily better. In many cases, more can be irritating.

I used an extras when I applied... one from an employer/adopted uncle who has known me since I was a kid and has seen me go through hard times and succeed (we actually lived with this guy's family, for almost a year when time were quite rough). And anyways, he had a different perspective on me than any teacher. This guy (amherst grad) was able to write a very nice rec letter too......

Four sounds like quite a few. I'd choose the one or two that say the most about you, i.e., include specific anecdotes or other evidence that relate to your personal characteristics. If the rec is mere puffery describing how bright or hard working you are, I wouldn't include it.

How can one know all of this since the recommendation will probably be sealed?

I sent three myself- two teachers and one from the college counselor. Beyond that you begin facing the fact that colleges will begin to not really see what is important about you (that and it'd be annoying to read too many I'm sure!).
