received a W every semester? =/

I go to a CCC, am in the TAP program, am applying to CAL and UCLA as a philosophy major this year, and currently have a GPA of 3.69 with 59 units completed thus far. By the time I finish spring semester though, I'll have approximately 80 units. However, I have a total of 6 W's and received one every semester actually.

My question is if there is any way for me to explain these consistent W's on the "Additional Comments" slot without sounding like a loopy student. I know the UC's place great emphasis on grade trends, and I'm not sure if they'll be too happy to see my receiving a W every semester.

Is it hopeless? =/

No you’re not hopeless. It you have a valid reason then put in the additional comments. If not, leave it blank.

If you have a valid reason and wish to write about it, then do so in two sentences and move on. I would avoid it personally.

UC’s don’t care about W’s for the admissions process. not even LA or UCB.

With that said, W’s can hurt you a little bit when applying to grad school.
