Yup, title says it all. Starts with "Grettings from Lehigh! I am writing to youw ith good news. You have been admitted to the Integrated Business and Engineering Honors Program. The Committee on Admissions is impressed with your academic credentials and personal qualities..." Also invited me for a visit on March 28th. I'll have to wait on other colleges before I decide where to go, but good luck to you all :)

Oh yeah. :)

I just applied for arts and sciences though.

I have also been accepted into Lehigh's IBE program. I got a 2210 on my composite SAT's, I am an Intel Semi-finalist, and have a 4.8/5.4 weighted GPA

I was wondering if i am overqualified for the IBE program since Lehigh's business is not ranked very high among undergraduate business programs. Lehigh's graduate business program is ranked 87th which is also very low in my standards.

Could you or anyone who have been accepted into IBE kindly post your SAT scores and GPA so I can compare with my stats?

I am heavily considering NYU(stern), U. Mich(Ross), and Carnegie Mellon(Tepper) over the IBE program but I am hoping one of them will give me a merit scholarshp since I do not qualify for financial aid. A scholarship would make my choice much easier but I have not yet heard from either of the other three schools

youre not overqualified for lehigh - i have similar stats (higher sats, 3.8uw gpa with lots of aps, leadership, an interesting business hook) and applied to lehigh's business school as an econ major. i live in the area and i know many students who have better stats than me who attend. like you, i also applied to stern and tepper and i am considering lehigh just as seriously as i am considering the others.

Thank you Rmac1288 for answering my question

if you wouldn't mind, exactly how much higher were your SAT grades.

I understand that Lehigh has smaller class sizes and professors are more accessible, but stern, michigan and tepper are ranked much higher for undergraduate business(all in the top 10 while lehigh is much lower) and they definitely provide better student opportunities once the students graduate.

my highschool(Ward Melville) is the most competitive non-selective public school in the nation, I've singlely organized a non-profit string quartet and a for-profit 45 hour SAT review course. I have taken 5 AP tests with top scores, and I am currently enrolled in 5 more AP classes this year. The Intel STS semifinalist award also has an astounding impact on admissions.

I'm not trying to boast my academic record or degrade Lehigh in any way. I just want to understand what makes the IBE program at Lehigh so great that students with high credential would give up a spot in other undergraduate business programs ranked top 10 in the nation to go to Lehigh.

Because Lehigh DOES have a good reputation. And you will find out that the ranking of a b-school doesn't really do anything after you've been working for a while. Getting ahead in business in the long run depends on skill and luck, not the college you went to. Example: My dad went to Umass Amherst and now is VP for a top business in Manhatten and even has Wharton grads working for HIM! He also had no previous connections; his parents own a gas station.

Peidi, my sat scores were not much higher than yours (2230, one try) - but others from my school who applied ED scored higher.

I understand how big Intel is and my extracurriculars don't really stand up to it but- just for reference, in addition to the routine stuff, I started off booking bi-monthly rock shows for touring bands in my town freshman year. I got pretty involved in this, and the bands and shows got to be pretty big (often well over 300 people per event). I used my experience and began booking tours for bands in conjunction with their record labels (first tour was from Jersey to Florida and back), and later, i actually worked with one specific philadelphia-based record label booking and promoting tours for its bands. Another thing that i highlighted in my app was my involvement with a camp for teens with down syndrome (presented the camp at the National Down Syndrome Congress in Minneapolis in 2004 and anticipate being head counselor 2006).

I got into IBE also, who all's going to the IBE day on the 28th?

for those who went to the IBE day....is the program something worth going to if you are from the california and giving up 1/2 tuition at usc. I didnt really know what it was when i applied (didnt think i had a chance to get in) but now that i am in am thinking i should consider it...

Lehigh is a great school with great regional recognition. If your FA packages are not similar and/or you are not considering working in the northeast, it would be hard to pass up 1/2 tuition at USC.
