I recently received an email from UBC about Jump Start that beings, “We’re so excited to welcome you to UBC this fall! Now that you’ve accepted your offer, you may be wondering how to get ready for life on campus.” However, I have not even received an admission decision yet… Anyone else in the same situation? Don’t play with my heart, UBC
Hi (my name) !
We’re so excited to welcome you to UBC this fall!
Now that you’ve accepted your offer, you may be wondering how to get ready for life on campus. One of the best ways to set yourself up for success is Jump Start. Regardless of your degree, or whether you’ll be living on or off campus, Jump Start is for you.
What to expect
UBC’s multi-day orientation combines academic and social activities designed to introduce you to the University, your faculty, and new friends from across Canada and around the world. You’ll also:
Get to know your new home, campus, and city.
Take care of the essentials like buying textbooks, and getting set up for life at UBC.
Learn how to learn at UBC.
All international students are expected to register for and participate in Jump Start.
See what Jump Start is all about
Their wording makes it sound like you got accepted.
Oh boy… talk about your epic fails. That does happen. My S was sent an exciting congrats note from Duke after being rejected. Mistakes happen but it doesn’t make them less impactful as @bjkmom notes!
This may not be a mistake though. The left hand may have simply been out of sync with the right. Call and ask. Good luck!
