I recently received an email from UBC about Jump Start that beings, “We’re so excited to welcome you to UBC this fall! Now that you’ve accepted your offer, you may be wondering how to get ready for life on campus.” However, I have not even received an admission decision yet… Anyone else in the same situation? Don’t play with my heart, UBC

Contact them and ask.
My son got one of those 2 years ago from another school. Their response? “Sometimes we make mistakes too.”
That single line caused him to withdraw his application. Mistakes are one thing, but their attitude about it was a complete turnoff.
Their exact wording:

Their wording makes it sound like you got accepted.

Oh boy… talk about your epic fails. That does happen. My S was sent an exciting congrats note from Duke after being rejected. Mistakes happen but it doesn’t make them less impactful as @bjkmom notes!
This may not be a mistake though. The left hand may have simply been out of sync with the right. Call and ask. Good luck!
It’s a glitch from what I know. I heard numerous cases of this.
